People for a Bill to Build the Beit HaMikdash, has recently picked up an important endorsement in our efforts to win permission for sincere archeologists to explore on the Temple Mount and determine the exact location of the First and Second Temples. In a flurry of emails, which followed our last newsletter, we were gratified to receive an email from Rabbi Stein, secretary of the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem. Rabbi Stein indicated that after careful consideration, the Sanhedrin concluded that the Holy of Holies was under the Dome of the Rock, and that serious archeologists should dig in that area to determine the precise location of the earlier temples.
During this period of negotiation regarding the future of Israel-Palestinian relations, it is worth noting that a recent poll of Arabs in East Jerusalem showed overwhelmingly, (85% - 15%), that they wish to remain as part of Israel. Is it any wonder? Life under Israeli rule provides security, stability and job opportunities!
